| 10. | Q- | What comes with the target? |
| 11. | Q- | Your pictures and videos show the targets with arms and weapons. Are these included or available? |
| 12. | Q- | What is the approximate shipping weight of the targets? |
| 1. | Q- | How long does the plastic shell last? |
| A- | The answer is "it depends." Splatter from conventional bullets will damage the sides of the plastic shell. With conventional ammunition, the chest area of the shell will have a useful life of at least 500 rounds. With the target clothed (highly recommended), the damage to the shell isn't noticable and doesn't affect its performance. One user reports that he put 1000 rounds on one Ted before it was replaced. |
| 2. | Q- | What about head shots? |
| A- | Due to the small size, head shots will wear the plastic shell more quickly. Fortunately, replacement faces are available for the target. When the head becomes damaged, it can be quickly and cheaply replaced. Back To Top |
|
| 3. | Q- | Can the life of the plastic shell be extended? |
| A- | Yes. If rubber material, such as conveyer belt, is placed on the face of the steel plates, the splatter will be reduced and the life of the plastic shell will be extended. Also, brush-in pickup truck bedliner material can be used to reinforce and repair the plastic shell. Back To Top |
|
| 4. | Q- | What about frangible ammunition? |
| A- | These targets are totally functional when used with frangible ammunition. In fact, if you use frangible ammunition, the plastic shell will last much longer. Because frangible ammunition tends to be of a higher velocity, it will wear the plates more quickly. For this reason, AR-500 plates are recommended for targets that will be shot with frangible. |
| 5. | Q- | How is the target calibrated? |
| A- | The target is calibrated by the adjustment bolt in the base. For single hits, one sets the target so it is almost falling over. For multiple hits, shooting the head plate will provide feedback for proper settings. If the target goes down quickly with a head shot, it will likely take two solid chest hits to knock it over. If the target goes down slowly with a head shot, it will likely take three solid chest hits to knock over. Back To Top |
|
| 6. | Q- | Is the "multiple hit calibration" caliber specific? |
| A- | Yes. If you calibrate the "fall" of the target with one caliber, a different caliber will require a different number of hits. For instance, if you calibrate the target for multiple 9mm hits, a single 45 shot will likely knock the target over. Back To Top | |
| 7. | Q- | What about angled shots? |
| A- | The target can be shot at angles of roughly 45 degrees from either side. When the target is shot from the side, bullet splatter patterns change and this must be kept in mind. Also, as the angle increases, the number of hits required to neutralize the target increases. Back To Top |
|
| 8. | Q- | How long does the steel target last? |
| A- | To date, the highest round count on a target is roughly 15,000 rounds of frangible by a large metro agency. This target was an early (frankly, poorly welded) low-velocity model that failed when the lower arms finally broke off. They are now testing our most current model and no failures have been reported in the thousands of rounds that have been fired. I have another user who has several 1,000 rounds of conventional ammunition on a target. The plates show no sign of pitting and the welds have held.

| 9. | Q- | Will these targets handle long gun rounds? |
| A- | NO. 00 Buck, slugs or centerfire rifle rounds will destroy these targets in short order. If you have a pistol caliber rifle or a 9mm upper for your AR, the targets will work. I suspect that birdshot will work but would accelerate wear on the plastic shell. Back To Top | |
| 10. | Q- | What comes with the target? |
| A- | When you order a target you receive the metal stand and target frame. In a separate package you receive: 1) 5-1/4" bolts to mount the Ted to the frame. 2) 4-1/2" x 2 1/2" lag bolts for attaching the legs. 3) 4-1/2" Wing nuts and washer for attaching the legs.
You'll need an 8' or 10' 2x4" cut into fourths and a Tac Man or Tactical Ted target to completely assemble the target. An 8' 2x4" will yield a target that is ~5'6". A 10' 2x4" will yield a target that is ~6'0".

| 11. | Q- | Your pictures and videos show the targets with arms and weapons. Are these included or available? |
| A- | No. These targets are a blank slate to which you apply your imagination. The "arms" and "weapons" shown in the videos and pictures are made from cardboard and attached to the target. Back To Top | |
| 12. | Q- | What is the approximate shipping weight of the targets? |
| A- | The "Standard Model" weighs approximately 33 lbs. The "Government Model" weighs approximately 36 lbs. Back To Top | |
